April has a profound dedication to fostering the growth and development of every student. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Education with a specialization in science and a Master's in Education specializing in educational technology, April's academic background is comprehensive and diverse. With a California teaching license for grades K-8, she brings extensive teaching experience across various educational levels, from Early Years to Adult Education, both in the USA and Central America. April's expertise is deeply rooted in the PYP and IB curriculum, ensuring a holistic and globally-minded education for all students. With 17 years of experience in education, including four years in senior leadership, she has consistently demonstrated her commitment to excellence and innovation in teaching.

April believes in nurturing each student's potential to the fullest. She advocates for creating a safe and enriching learning environment where children can explore, learn, and grow. She emphasizes the importance of preparing students for their future college and career endeavors by offering opportunities to learn about the world and their surroundings. April's philosophy centers on celebrating every achievement, no matter how small, and embracing mistakes as valuable learning experiences. She is dedicated to student-centered classrooms that align with their interests, ensuring high engagement and meaningful learning. April also believes in the power of collaboration between students, parents, and families to find solutions that enhance student well-being. Under her leadership, the school has seen significant improvements, such as enhanced learning lessons, the integration of educational technologies, and the development of programs that support both academic and emotional growth. As Head of Middle School, I've had the pleasure of witnessing firsthand the incredible growth and potential within our students. For the past decade, my journey as an international educator, with over five of those years specifically dedicated to leadership, has solidified my belief in the transformative power of middle school.

Here, we see education as far more than simply acquiring facts. It's about nurturing the very foundation upon which our young people will build their understanding of the world, discover their unique purpose, and develop the skills to lead with integrity. I am deeply proud to be part of a vibrant community of dedicated educators, engaged students, and supportive families who share this commitment.

My aim is to foster an environment where open-mindedness flourishes, critical thinking becomes second nature, and independence is nurtured. These aren't just buzzwords; they are the essential tools our students will need to confidently navigate the complexities of our ever-evolving world.
